Student Web Policy

Student Web policy:

Because Web publications are available on the worldwide Internet, special care must be taken to protect the privacy of students. No personal information about students such as home addresses or telephone numbers shall be included in a Web page.

No student work, images of students, or student names are to be posted to school or district websites without written parent or guardian authorization. This authorization must be obtained from the parent or guardian by completion of a signed Authorization Form for Photo and Student Work Inclusion on the Rapides Parish School Board Website. The signed form must be kept on file at the studentís home school.
  1. Groups of five or more students involved in an activity may be included on a school website without permission, but they shall be identified only with the name of the activity. No student names may be used without parent/guardian permission, regardless of size of group.
  2. Photographs, names, and student work of, or information on, smaller groups or individuals may be included with the signed permission of a parent or guardian (or student who is of legal age to consent).
  3. No confidential student information shall be published on or linked to a Web page. No personal information about students or staff such as telephone numbers, addresses, names of family members, or names of friends may be published.
